In this kinetic art, I explore how humour and play be interpreted by daily experience and collective memory. I put a classic piece of music, Carmen Overture, together with a pair of cheap slippers, and then deliberately and playfully jumbled their rhythms so that they weren’t on the same beat. However, this simple combination brings back many visitors’ childhood/young memories. I always want the most daily and common things to bring the most warmth and humour to people.
